Why Should I Attend?
HyperLink Voted Best Community Event on Kaua`i for four years running, Taste of Hawaii is an extraordinary, upscale culinary garden party and also a fundraiser for the Rotary Club of Kapaa, a volunteer, non-profit group of business people dedicated to the motto "Service Above Self."  Net proceeds from this event go back into our community to help worthy non-profit groups and to fund scholarships for high school and community college students. A portion of the funds go abroad where, working in partnership with Rotary clubs in Third World countries, we help fund basic necessities of life such as water wells to provide clean drinking water and toilet and hand-washing stations for rural schools.
Here's what The Garden Island newspaper said about Taste of Hawaii in citing the event as the "Best Community Event":

"It's Kaua`i's favorite day to eat, drink and be merry.  Once a year, the Rotary Club of Kapa`a sponsors a feast for the senses on the 35-acre grounds of Smith's Tropical Paradise in Wailua.  The event has been voted the best community event several years running by The Garen Island readers.   The event is dubbed "the ultimate Sunday brunch" and has served up big smiles and full stomachs for 24 years. It is also a fund-raiser to help carry out the Rotary Club's various projects and fund scholarships for deserving students."
